Carnaval 2015
It starts on the first Friday with an opening parade, which reaches its height during the night when thousands of people in fancy dresses dance until the early hours of the next day. The party continues night after night for the whole week.
The rest of the islands celebrate their carnival as well, one of the celebrations is held in Santa Cruz de La Palma from 1920 which is known as “Los Indianos”. This event represents the return of emigrants from the Americas, who came back to the island wealthier. So every participant has to dress in white (Cuban style), dance Cuban sounds and throw talcum powder (which has replaced the flour they threw when the celebration was born).
